Shelves, shelves and rack trays

Cantilevered shelves and trays, rack shelves, pull-out shelves on telescopic rails

The shelves and rack shelves are characterized by:

* size
The dimensions of the shelves differ mainly in the depth and number of units occupied by the brackets fixing to the rack. The shelves must be inside the 19" system, i.e. within a space of 450 mm, so their width is on average between 40 and 43 cm, while depending on the size of the fixing fins they can occupy one or more rack units.

* Rack units occupied

Usually the shelves with 4 fixing points occupy only one rack unit, the cantilever ones having to unload all the weight on only 2 posts generally have fixing fins 2 or more racks high.

* fixing points

2 only fixing points for the shelves called "cantilevered", often shallow and ideal for supporting not very heavy equipment (generally within 20 kg)
4 fixing points for the shelves and shelves deeper and more capacious, with a load capacity of up to 100 kg.
Obviously a support surface that unloads the weight on the 4 rack uprights of the cabinet through the fixing fins placed at its 4 vertices will have a resistance and a load capacity higher than any cantilevered shelf. The latter, on the other hand, as they are built, with only 2 fins fixing to the rack, positioned at the ends of one side of the shelf, risk flexing if excessively loaded and / or if extremely large.

* fixed or mobile
The shelves can be fixed or removable on telescopic rails (mobile shelves), in the second case the support surface is usually a little narrower because on its sides are positioned telescopic slides of two or more elements that allow extraction. In some cases, these solutions are associated with a system of "accompaniment and guidance of the cables" which, positioned behind the shelf, avoids crushing the cable of the apparatuses placed on the floor, when the shelf is returned to its original location after it has been extracted to carry out some operation.

* Material
generally painted or galvanized steel, or aluminium.

* type of support surface, blind or perforated
The shelves can be blind, perforated or equipped with various openings to allow the passage of air and any cables.

* Color
The shelves and rack shelves are generally consistent with the cabinets and therefore mainly RAL 7035 ice gray or RAL 9005 black. Other colours are also possible for small production batches.

Synoptic table shelves and rack shelves

Attention: to be sure of compatibility, the depth of the shelf must always be lower than that of the cabinet, on average 20/30 cm.
